An MLS legend could well be on his way back into the league.

According to a tweet from Kartik Krishnaiyer, the Seattle Sounders are set to add former MLS forward Preki to manager Brian Schmetzer's coaching staff. Preki was most recently in charge of Saint Louis FC in USL, compiling a 9-14-9 record during the 2017 campaign.

Prior to that, Preki coached Sacramento Republic. He also previously managed two MLS sides, leading both Chivas USA and Toronto FC during the early years of his coaching career. Preki won the Coach of the Year award during his first season at the helm of Chivas USA in 2007.

A former MLS forward, Preki scored 89 goals and delivered 117 assists during his time as a player in the league. He won the 1997 and 2003 MLS MVP awards, lifted the MLS Cup in 2000 with the then-Kansas City Wizards, and represented the US national team on 28 occasions.
