The New York Red Bulls re-signed midfielder Vincent Bezecourt on Friday, the club announced.

Bezecourt signs a new MLS deal after he was promoted from USL team New York Red Bulls II in August. He appeared in three regular-season matches and one postseason contest, recording one assist for New York in 2017.

“We are happy to have reached a new agreement with Vince,” said Red Bulls sporting director Denis Hamlett. “As with the other players that have been promoted to the first team, Vince has worked hard and earned his place. As I said when we promoted him in August, Vince impressed us with his skill and work ethic. We were pleased with how he handled himself over the second half of the year and look forward to him continuing his growth as a player.”

The 24-year-old Frenchman earned USL All-League Second Team honors in 2017 for a campaign that saw him tally six goals and 11 assists in 24 matches. In two seasons with NYRB II, Bezecourt recorded 14 goals and 16 assists in 46 appearances. He’ll occupy an international slot on the Red Bulls’ roster.

“Vince finished the year so strong,” said Red Bulls head coach Jesse Marsch. “He has had some good years with the USL team and we know that we can count on Vince like we did by playing him in the playoffs and starting him in MLS matches a few times towards the end of the year. It will be important for him to build on that experience and take the next steps to establish himself with the team.”
