TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Signing
The Houston Dynamo have tapped into their USL affiliate to bolster their midfield depth.
The Dynamo announced on Friday that they have signed midfielder Eric Bird to a first-team contract. Bird, 24, spent the past two seasons with Houston's USL side, Rio Grande Valley FC. He previously represented the Philadelphia Union in 2015 after being drafted by them in the second round of that year's MLS SuperDraft, but never made an appearance for the Eastern Conference side.
During his two years at RGV FC, Bird played in 51 games and scored 10 goals while assisting on four others. He played for fellow USL club, the Harrisburg City Islanders, prior to that while on loan from Philadelphia.
