TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Reports

One year after holding midfielder David Guzman moved from Deportivo Saprissa to the Portland Timbers, it appears that another Costa Rican is headed to the Rose City to bolster the spine of PTFC’s lineup.

According to multiple media reports in both countries, Saprissa center back Julio Cascante is set to sign with Portland, departing the club along with playmaker Ulises Segura, who's reportedly on his way to D.C. United.

The 24-year-old – who was linked to the Timbers earlier this year – has been a regular for El Monstruo Morado, and the club confirmed his departure for MLS with a congratulatory tweet from its official account on Wednesday:

Timbers site Stumptown Footy has further details on the mooted move, including a rundown of the Costa Rican reporting on Cascante’s situation.
