Jozy Altidore, Sacha Kljestan exchange barbs after halftime ejections

US national team teammates Jozy Altidore and Sacha Kljestan were both ejected during halftime of Sunday's Audi 2017 MLS Cup Playoffs match between Toronto FC and the New York Red Bulls, which ended with TFC advancing on away goals.

The two were shown red cards after an apparent dustup in the tunnel as the two were making their way out to the field for the second half. The reds were shown after an argument on the field in the first half that resulted in Kljestan pushing Altidore to the ground. Both were shown yellow cards after the incident.

After the game, Kljestan spoke with reporters, claiming Altidore shoved him into a wall:

Altidore seemingly caught wind of the quote, and responded with a soon-deleted social media post:

Altidore attended the Toronto Raptors game at Air Canada Centre after the match and gave an interview to TSN. After apologizing to the fans, Altidore went on to explain his side of the story:

"He tried to come and get at me from behind, choked and pushed me," Altidore said. "And he found out the hard way that he shouldn't do something like that."
