Atlanta United set MLS postseason attendance record

Mercedes Benz Stadium - October 26, 2017

Much has already been made of Atlanta United's series of attendance records during their debut season in MLS.

Last week, when they hosted Toronto FC, they set a regular-season league attendance record, with 71,874 gathering to watch the teams play to a 2-2 draw.

In Thursday night's Knockout Round match of the Audi 2017 MLS Cup playoffs, the club set yet another record.

The attendance of 67,221 was the highest-ever for an MLS postseason match, a record previously set at MLS Cup 2002 at Gillette Stadium, which drew 61,316.
