The LA Galaxy will be without two of their biggest names for their match at Columbus Crew SC on Wednesday night (7:30 pm ET | MLS LIVE).
Attacker Giovani dos Santos (hamstring) and midfielder Jermaine Jones (toe) did not travel to Ohio for the match due to injury. Head coach Sigi Schmid told LA Galaxy Insider Adam Serrano that he hopes both will be available for Sunday’s California Clasico match against the San Jose Earthquakes (7 pm ET | FS1 in the US, MLS LIVE in Canada).
“Gio is carrying a hamstring, and we didn’t feel that he’ll be ready for Wednesday. We think he’ll be ready for Sunday,” Schmid said. “Jermaine still has stitches, and it was located in a place where it was tough to keep the wound closed. The feeling is that he needs another day or two.”
