Brek Shea pulls double duty in delivery room, Whitecaps game on Saturday

Brek Shea vs. the Colorado Rapids, May 5, 2017

Sunday is Father's Day in both Canada and the U.S., and one MLS dad pulled double duty on Saturday.

Vancouver Whitecaps FC attacker Brek Shea welcomed his newborn son Zepplin Brekken Shea into the world at 7:40 pm ET on Saturday in Vancouver. A team spokesperson told MLSsoccer.com that mother and baby (and older sister Phoenix) are doing well.

Shea got to hold his son before heading to work, making it to BC Place for the normal players report time ahead of Vancouver's match against FC Dallas, which kicked off at 10 pm ET. Shea even started the match for the Whitecaps, with a shorthanded roster requiring all hands on deck.

Congratulations to the entire Shea family, and good work, dad.
