Goal of the Matchday

Ignacio Piatti wins AT&T Goal of the Week for Week 32/33 with potent curler

Winning the AT&T Goal of the Week award has become quite the habit for Ignacio Piatti.

Piatti, the Montreal Impact's de facto playmaker, won the award for a season-best fifth time in a combined Week 32/33 vote after firing home a spectacular curler to open the scoring in the Montreal Impact's 2-2 draw with Toronto FC.

The Argentine's first of two goals on the night came in the 19th minute, as he collected a pass from Marco Donadel, surged forward on the dribble, and unleashed a cannon of a shot to the far corner of the net.

As impressive as it was, Piatti's strike had quite the competition in the final round of voting. It claimed 52 percent of the voting in contrast to Columbus Crew SC's Adam Jahn's volley vs. the Chicago Fire, which earned 48 percent.
