Wil Trapp subbed off early after collision in Crew SC-Quakes showdown

A collision has cut Wil Trapp's day at the office short.

Trapp and Shaun Francis appeared to bang heads in the 10th minute of the Columbus Crew SC-San Jose Earthquakes match on Saturday while going up to battle for an aerial ball, and the Crew SC midfielder was removed from the game almost immediately.


Trapp stumbled and stayed on his feet after the play, but teammates got him to sit down before the medical staff ran onto the field to do an evaluation. He was immediately pulled from the match and taken to the locker room. Dilly Duka officially replaced Trapp in the 13th minute.


Trapp, 23, missed 13 games in 2015 because of a concussion,
