Defender Roman Torres finally resumes full training with Seattle Sounders

Roman Torres - Seattle Sounders - looks upfield to play a pass

The Seattle Sounders got an offensive boost last week with the arrival of Nicolas Lodeiro. They might soon get a defensive one with the return of Roman Torres.

Torres went through a complete practice session with the Sounders on Monday for the first time since suffering an ACL injury last September. The Panamanian center back had been training with some limitations in recent weeks, but now has his first full practice under his belt as he moves one step closer to completing his comeback.

There is currently no exact timetable for when the 30-year-old Torres might be able to play, but Sounders interim head coach Brian Schmetzer all but ruled him out of Sunday's visit to Orlando City SC (7 pm ET, FS1).

“[This weekend] is probably too soon,” Schmetzer said. “He needs a full week and [the Orlando game] is on the road and on turf. But we’ll keep him on the right path.”

A Panamanian international, Torres signed with the Sounders last summer but played just four games before suffering the ACL injury.
