The future is now in the Great White North.

Just one day after signing an MLS contract with Vancouver Whitecaps FC, 15-year-old prodigy Alphonso Davies made his on-field debut in the 77th minute of Saturday's 2-2 draw with Orlando City SC.

Davies, who was the third-youngest player to sign an MLS contract, became the second-youngest to take the field, at 15 years, 257 days old. Freddy Adu was 14 years, 306 days old at the time of his MLS debut on April 3, 2004.

In 13 minutes, Davies revealed flashes of the speed and creativity that earned him pro status, creating the opportunity for a shot that went wide left just after entering the game.

Davies, who appeared four times for the Whitecaps' first team in this year's Amway Canadian Championship, also holds the record as the youngest player to ever score in the USL, for Whitecaps FC 2.
