Landon Donovan names squad for Chipotle MLS Homegrown Game vs. Mexico U-20s

Landon Donovan has picked the squad of MLS Homegrown talent he will lead into battle vs. his old adversary from south of the border.

For the third year running, the MLS and US national team legend will coach the Homegrown team in the 2016 Chipotle MLS Homegrown Game, set for 9 pm ET on Wednesday, July 27 at Avaya Stadium in San Jose, California, one day before the 2016 AT&T MLS All-Star Game against English Premier League heavyweights Arsenal FC.

US national team regular and Seattle Sounders Homegrown player Jordan Morris headlines Donovan's selections, while skilful US youth international and Bay Area native Tommy Thompson will make his third straight appearance in the match, representing the hometown San Jose Earthquakes on his Avaya home pitch.

Real Salt Lake lead the way with four selections to this year's roster, with regular first-teamers Justen Glad and Jordan Allen joined by Danilo Acosta and Phanuel Kavita. FC Dallas' prolific youth development system is also well-represented with a trio of standout prospects: US youth international winger Coy Craft, defender Aaron Guillen and goalkeeper Jesse Gonzalez, a Mexican youth international who will be facing his old team.

Four teams will send two players apiece: the LA Galaxy, Orlando City SC, Seattle Sounders and Toronto FC.
