Transfer Watch: Are Seattle in for Uruguay international Nicolas Lodeiro?

Nicolas Lodeiro - Boca Juniors - celebration

Have Seattle found their solution at the No. 10 position?

That's the rumor currently making the rounds, as the Sounders have been linked with Uruguayan international midfielder Nicolas Lodeiro, currently on the books of Argentine giants Boca Juniors.

The 27-year-old was initially linked on Tuesday to MLS, and specifically the Montreal Impact, though a source told MLSsoccer.com that there was no offer from the Canadian club for Lodeiro. Now it appears the Sounders are the team pursuing the two-time World Cup veteran and that there has been a meeting between Boca and the player's representative over his future:

A member of Uruguay's national team since 2009, Lodeiro has played in the previous two World Cups while also helping his home nation win the 2011 Copa América. On the club level, the 5-foot-7 Lodeiro has played for Boca Juniors, Brazilian sides Corinthians and Botafogo, Dutch club Ajax, and Uruguayan outfit Nacional.

This season, Lodeiro has made nine league appearances for Boca Juniors and scored three goals. He also scored three goals in 21 matches in his first season with the club in 2015.
