MLS Disciplinary Committee suspends Andres Imperiale, Alex

The MLS Disciplinary Committee has handed down suspensions to two players and has fined an additional three players after Week 8 of the 2016 season.


Imperiale foul on Dwyer



The Disciplinary Committee has fined and suspended San Jose Earthquakes defender Andres Imperiale one game for "serious foul play that endangered the safety of an opponent" on a tackle on Dom Dwyer in the 31st minute of San Jose's 1-0 win against Sporting Kansas City. Imperiale will serve the suspension during Saturday's match at the Philadelphia Union.


Alex foul on Saeid



The Disciplinary Committee has fined and suspended Houston Dynamo midfielder Alex one game for "serious foul play that endangered the safety of an opponent" on a foul on Mohammed Saeid in the 71st minute of Houston's 1-0 loss at Columbus Crew SC. Alex will serve the suspension during Saturday's match at Real Salt Lake.


Kamara confrontation



Columbus Crew SC striker Kei Kamara has been fined an undisclosed amount by the Disciplinary Committee for "escalating a mass confrontation" in the 71st minute of Columbus' win against Houston on Saturday.


Godoy hand-to-neck contact of Dwyer



San Jose Earthquakes midfielder Anibal Godoy has been fined an undisclosed amount by the Disciplinary Committee for violating rules that prohibit grabbing at a player's head/face/neck in the 77th minute of San Jose's win against SKC.


Evans verbal abuse to ref


Seattle Sounders defender Brad Evans has been fined an undisclosed amount by the Disciplinary Committee for using offensive, insulting or abusive language towards an official in 87th minute of the Sounders' 3-1 loss at the Colorado Rapids on Saturday. The incident, for which there is no video available, came after Kevin Doyle scored a controversial goal to extend Colorado's lead to 3-1.
