Breathe deeply, Montreal Impact fans: Didier Drogba is in the house.

The legendary Ivorian striker linked up with his team at their preseason camp in St. Petersburg, Florida, on Tuesday, joining the club after spending the last few weeks training on his own in Qatar. The Impact feared losing Drogba, who scored 11 goals in 11 preseason games after joining Montreal last summer, to his former club Chelsea this winter, with reports surfacing that he was considering re-joining the club as an assistant coach.

Drogba, of course, eventually decided to return to Montreal for the final year of his contract. You can check out the moment he returned to the team in the above video, initially posted to the Impact's Facebook account.

And while Drogba didnā€™t play in the Impactā€™s 1-0 preseason loss Wednesday night to New York City FC, he was on the sidelines to share a special moment with former Chelsea teammate and current NYCFC midfielder Frank Lampard. Weā€™ll see if Drogba suits up for Montrealā€™s next match in Florida, Friday against D.C. United.
