Transfer Watch: New York City FC considering loan move for PSG prospect Presnel Kimpembe

Patrick Vieira shouts out instructions

New York City FC finished their inaugural season by conceding 58 goals – tied for the most allowed in the league. Fixing the defense is a top priority for new manager Patrick Vieira and he might have found a solution in his international home of France.

French outlet Le Parisien is reporting that Vieira has approached Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain about potentially loaning highly-touted young center back Presnel Kimpembe. The publication suggests PSG is reluctant to let the 20-year-old defender leave but might be willing to consider a season-long loan in order to give him more experience.

LP also mentions that Danish club FC Copenhagen had inquired about a potential transfer, but was turned down by PSG.

Kimpembe is a France youth international and has made two senior appearances for PSG. Last season, NYCFC had some success in its loan deals for Shay Facey and Angelino from Manchester City's Elite Development Squad.
