Michael Bradley - USMNT - Gold Cup

US Soccer announced the five nominees for the 2015 US Soccer Male Player of the Year Award on Monday, with a pair of MLS players making the cut.

Toronto FC midfielder and US national team captain Michael Bradley and Seattle Sounders star Clint Dempsey are both in the running for the award, which will be voted on by national team and youth national team coaches and staff, players who earned a USMNT cap in 2015, MLS and NASL head coaches, former players, administrators and select media members.

Joining Bradley and Dempsey on the list of nominees are Borussia Monchengladbach winger Fabian Johnson, Aston Villa goalkeeper Brad Guzan and Tottenham defender DeAndre Yedlin, who is currently on loan with Sunderland.

Dempsey has won the award three times (2007, 2011 and 2012) and would tie Landon Donovan for the record for most Male Player of the Year honors with another win. Bradley has earned three previous nominations, while this is the second-straight nomination for Johnson and first time on the short list for both Guzan and Yedlin.

US Soccer will announce the winner of the award on Friday.
