There was no doubting Columbus Crew SC fans were on a real high on Sunday, so much so that they braved cold weather and stayed up into the early hours of the morning to greet their MLS Cup-bound club.

Crew SC supporters welcomed Gregg Berhalter and his troops home early on Monday, several hours after the club had pushed past the New York Red Bulls to move into this Sunday's MLS Cup final clash with the Portland Timbers (4 pm ET, ESPN, WatchESPN, UniMás in US, TSN, RDS2 in Canada).

Berhalter appreciated the fans' passion - which was cited as a big reason for the win by Columbus players - so much that he went over to share a few kind words. He also asked them to be loud on Sunday when the MLS Cup final is played at Crew SC's home, MAPFRE Stadium.
