Martin Hansen is a former Liverpool youth goalkeeper who was on trial last year with Orlando City SC. Perhaps the Lions should have kept him – as a striker.
Hansen scored one of the more eye-popping goals by a ‘keeper you’re likely to see this week. It gave his new team, ADO Den Haag of the Dutch Eredivisie, a late equalizer in their season-opening 2-2 draw against PSV.
Hansen had come forward for a free kick in the game’s dying moments in his team’s desperation efforts to tie the game. He slid onto the end of the service at the top of the box and hit a flying back-heel that left everyone in the stadium in a bit of shock. Check it out for yourself above.
