CONCACAF Champions League: MLS clubs learn opponents for 2015-16 tournament

Get ready for some Cascadia action in the 2015-16 CONCACAF Champions League.

CONCACAF conducted the draw for the upcoming Champions League tournament on Monday in Miami, and among the highlights for the group stage is a derby clash between the Vancouver Whitecaps and Seattle Sounders in Group F. Vancouver qualified by virtue of being the Canadian team with the best MLS regular season record in 2014, while the Sounders qualified as the MLS Supporters' Shield winners. While road games to the respective Pacific Northwest will not be too far away, the teams will have to venture down to Central America to play perennial Honduran power CD Olimpia as part of the group stage.

Other MLS teams involved in the next addition of the competition include MLS Cup champions LA Galaxy, who were drawn into Group D alongside Trinidad & Tobago's Central FC and Guatemalan power Comunicaciones, as well as Real Salt Lake, who will take on two Central American opponents in El Salvador's Santa Tecla and Guatemala's Municipal in Group G.

D.C. United, the final team drawn, will face Jamaican team Montego Bay United FC and Arabe Unido of Panama in Group H. Mexico's Club America, the current Champions League holders, were drawn into Group E alongside Nicaraguan side Walter Ferretti and Honduras' Motagua.
