Montreal Impact, Chicago Fire reschedule April 18 match to Sept. 23 due to upcoming CCL final

The Montreal Impact celebrate Jack McInerney's goal against Alajuelense in the CCL semifinal

Obviously, all of MLS is getting behind the Montreal Impact ahead of their upcoming CONCACAF Champions League final against Club América.

The Chicago Fire on Saturday agreed to reschedule their April 18 league meeting with the Impact in order to give the Canadian side extra time to focus and train for the CCL final. This follows a similar move earlier this week, when the San Jose Earthquakes agreed to move their originally scheduled April 25 league match.

The Chicago match will now be played on Wednesday, September 23, at 8 pm ET.

The Impact will begin their two-legged CCL final series with América on Wednesday, April 22 (9 pm ET) at the famed Azteca Stadium in Mexico City. The second leg will be played on Wednesday, April 29 (8 pm ET), at the Olympic Stadium in Montreal.

The Impact have already sold more than 40,000 tickets for the second leg.
