MLS Disciplinary Committee fines FC Dallas midfielder Kyle Bekker, punishes Sporting KC assistant

The MLS Disciplinary Committee issued a pair of punishments on Tuesday, fining FC Dallas midfielder Kyle Bekker and fining and suspending Sporting Kansas City head fitness coach Mateus Manoel for separate incidents from FCD’s 3-1 win over Sporting on Saturday.

Bekker was fined after the Disciplinary Committee found him in violation of the league’s policy regarding hands to the face/head/neck of an opponent after making contact with SKC defender Kevin Ellis in the 89th minute. Referee Jair Maruffo showed a yellow card to both Bekker and Ellis after the incident. (WATCH IT HERE).

Manoel was punished for entering the field of play to kick a ball in the 64th minute of the match at Toyota Stadium (WATCH IT HERE). He will be fined and suspended for Saturday's match against the Portland Timbers (8:30 pm ET, MLS LIVE).
