MLS Cup redux, plus roster madness

Break? What break? MLS Cup was a doozy, another title for the LA Galaxy and Landon Donovan. Then the fun really got started with the busiest day of the year.

#FirstToFive

Dynasty. There's no arguing it now. The LA Galaxy made it three MLS Cup titles in four years on Sunday in dramatic fashion, MLS Volkswagen MVP Robbie Keane doing the extra-time honors against the luckless Revs, now five-time runners-up in the big game. In the aftermath, Andrew is joined by the March to the Match guys as they wrap up the 19th season in MLS and look ahead.

Speaking of looking ahead, the half-day trade window didn't disappoint. There would be no sleepy Monday as Dave and Simon break down all the trades, signings and back-and-forth in the aftermath of MLS Cup (Borchers to Portland, Collin and Okugo to Orlando, NYCFC wheeling and dealing). Oh, and expansion lists are out as well, so there's that to ponder.

ExtraTime Radio Book Club:

If you thought you knew everything there was to know about the 2014 World Cup, think again. Author James Montague dug up the stories you likely never heard about in the lead-up to Brazil 2014 in "Thirty-One Nil." We spoke to Montague about his adventures around the world and if you haven't yet ordered the book, you'll likely be tempted to after listening to our special Book Club edition.

Meanwhile, get started on the book club's next selection: The Numbers Game by Chris Anderson and David Sally (see left).
