Alan Gordon is winning over LA Galaxy fans with plenty of goals and free beer | SIDELINE

LA Galaxy striker Alan Gordon

You can't buy love or respect, but with enough goals scored — and perhaps a keg or three of beer for tailgates — a pro soccer player can certainly wriggle his way back into the good graces of a club's supporters.

That's the philosophy by which Alan Gordon has lived his return to the LA Galaxy following an Aug. 11 trade that saw the Long Beach, California native shipped home by the San Jose Earthquakes.

Just one problem for Gordon: Galaxy fans weren't exactly head over heels for Gordon after his previous stint with the club featured much disappointment. They probably also didn't love the antics (and stoppage time goals) when he was a member of the rival Earthquakes, and that's something fans don't forget easily.

But Gordon has done his part on the field to win back the Galaxy fans to the tune of five goals in 12 appearance (only five starts). And while one goal every 97 minutes is a good start, Gordon has other ideas to speed up the reconciliation process.

Be on the lookout this Sunday, Galaxy fans, because he's bringing the kegs.
