Consistency is everything for a forward. Which is why Brown is held in such regard for a second straight year. The Jamaican international, known for his quick runs off the ball, has followed up his impressive rookie season with an equally impressive sophomore year: His goals/90 minutes is actually up so far this year, and his two goals in Week 13 earned him Player of the Week honors.

What the technical staffers say: "He's exceeded most expectations. Not just in production but in his overall play. To come back and play as well as he did in his first season proves he could be for real. ... He can be profligate in front of goal. He's consistently a danger, but if he doesn't become a better finisher, he'll have limited impact as the league gets better."

What Opta Sports says: Ranks second in MLS with 83 shots taken. Since the start of the 2013 season, he has scored 19 regular-season goals, which is tied for third among players under 24.
