Real Salt Lake have settled upon a name for their USL PRO team that will begin play in 2015, as owner Dell Loy Hansen revealed Wednesday in a presentation to the Utah State Fairpark Board of Directors that the outfit would be called the Real Monarchs.

The Monarchs will begin play next year at Rio Tinto Stadium, before likely moving into an 8,000-seat facility of their own at the Utah State Fairpark that was recently approved by the Board of Directors (mock-up pictured above).

Hansen also confirmed that the team has already obtained a license for the Monarchs to begin play in 2015.

The LA Galaxy are currently the only MLS team also fielding a USL PRO team (LA Galaxy II), but will be joined in 2015 by the Monarchs and FC Montreal, which will serve as the Montreal Impact's USL PRO outfit. The Vancouver Whitecaps are also pushing to get a USL PRO team in place for 2015, as are FC Dallas and the Seattle Sounders, while the Houston Dynamo recently met with representatives in McAllen, Texas, about starting their own team there.
