World Cup: Which side of knockout bracket would you prefer to see US national team?

2014 World Cup Knockout Round Bracket

Which side of the knockout bracket would you rather see the USA?

If you're the superstitious type, hit the "back" button now.

Because here we want to dream a little and look into the future.

If the US national can manage to survive the Group of Death on Thursday and finish as the first- or second-place team after the Group G finale against Germany (Thurs., noon ET on ESPN and Univision), then the American flag will find its way into the Round of 16 bracket, which is nearly set (see above).

Finish in first place and Clint Dempsey & Co. face either Algeria, Russia or South Korea in the round of 16, potentially followed by a quarterfinal against France and a semifinal against a South American power like Brazil or Colombia.

Finish in second place and the Yanks will be drawn on the right side of the bracket, likely facing the ilk of Belgium (round of 16), Argentina (quarterfinals) andthe Netherlands or even rivals Mexico in the semis.

Which path would you prefer to see the USMNT embark on? Vote in the poll and share your rationale in the comments section below.
