Seattle Sounders' Clint Dempsey unveiled as newest spokesperson for Oberto beef jerky | SIDELINE

Clint Dempsey, Seattle Sounders

You mean to tell me that Clint Dempsey didn't already have a beef jerky sponsorship?

The Seattle Sounders and US national team star was unveiled on Thursday as the newest ambassador for Seattle-based beef jerky company Oberto, along with former NFL linebacker Brian Urlacher.

According to Oberto, "Urlacher and Dempsey will work with Oberto to encourage fans to select better-for-you snacks, get the most from nutrition and live more active lifestyles."

The marketing which features Dempsey and Urlacher is part of Oberto's PROtein campaign — a partnership between Oberto and elite athletes and nutrition experts to highlight the benefits of Oberto's all natural, high-in-protein jerky line.

If Clint Dempsey insists I try Oberto beef jerky, I'd be inclined to take his word for it and dig into a bag.

Marketing pro trip: From now on, every Deuce ad should feature the crazy-eyed "Deuce Face" slapped on top of any serious photo of Dempsey pushing product. Instant sales bonanza.
