Vancouver Whitecaps goalkeeper Brad Knighton nabs Week 19's Player of the Week award

Vancouver Whitecaps goalkeeper Brad Knighton

The Vancouver Whitecaps are making a habit out of claiming MLS Player of the Week honors.

Goalkeeper Brad Knighton delivered two strong performances for Vancouver en route to winning the Week 19 award, marking the third time in the last four weeks that a Whitecaps player has been voted for the distinction. Knighton joins Kenny Miller (Week 16) and Camilo (Week 17) as 'Caps players to claim the award this season, and is the first goalkeeper to do so since D.C. United's Bill Hamid in Week 3.

Knighton first enjoyed a two-save performance in the Whitecaps' 1-1 road draw with Sporting Kansas City last Wednesday before making seven stops in Vancouver's 2-0 dismissal of rivals the Seattle Sounders this past Saturday.
