Goal of the Week: Darlington Nagbe puts Portland Timbers on top again

Darlington Nagbe became the fifth different Portland Timbers players to win the AT&T Goal of the Week award on Friday, picking up nearly 60 percent of the fan vote to easily top fellow Cascadia star Kenny Miller of the Vancouver Whitecaps.

Nagbe – who pivoted and fired a right-footed wonder goal that led Portland past visiting FC Dallas last weekend – is the second straight Timbers player to win the award following Diego Valeri’s win in Week 15.

Rodney Wallace, Ryan Johnson and Will Johnson have also won the award this season.

Miller – who scored two goals that made the list of nominees in Week 16 – picked up nearly 23 percent of the vote for his volley from distance in a win over the New England Revolution.

Final Votes - Week 16 (online poll and text vote):

1. Darlington Nagbe: (59.47%)
2. Kenny Miller (VAN): 22.83%
3. Kenny Miller (VAN) 10.39%
4. Steven Lenhart (SJ): 5.66%
5. Kelyn Rowe (NE): 1.65%
