Montreal Impact supporters don't like losing to Toronto FC and they made it clear on Saturday afternoon during an MLS match at Stade Saputo.
Using banners with pointed messages and a period of silence during the first half, Montreal supporters showed their displeasure at their club for resting a handful of starters in last Wednesday's 2-0 loss to TFC in the first leg of the Amway Canadian Championship semifinal series.
That defeat extended the Impact's struggles against Toronto in the Canadian Championship, a competition in which they have yet to defeat their most heated rivals (0-7-2).
One supporters banner on Saturday read "Voyageurs Cup Before NBC" (right, photo by Olivier Tremblay) and another "24-04-13: We took it seriously" (translated from French).
The Impact will look to make amends on Wednesday, when they welcome Toronto FC for the second leg at Stade Saputo (7:30 p.m. ET, Sportsnet).
