BBC: Sporting KC's Kamara heading to Norwich City

Kei Kamara

While all eyes are on the potential transfer of US national team winger Brek Shea to Stoke City, another rumored MLS to EPL transfer looks like it's fait accompli.

The BBC is reporting Wednesday morning that English Premier League side Norwich City "will sign striker Kei Kamara from Sporting Kansas City, subject to the Sierra Leone international gaining a work permit."

Sporting KC did not comment on the story when contacted by MLSsoccer.com on Wednesday.

The rumors about a potential move for the Sierra Leone international emerged for the first time last week.

Kamara did not feature for Sporting during Tuesday's 1-1 draw with FC Tucson in the Desert Friendlies tournament although he is listed on the club's preseason roster.

The 28-year-old Kamara has been in MLS since 2006, playing with four different clubs. He has been a starting winger in Kansas City since arriving in 2009.

He would be the second Sporting KC player to join a Premier League side this January, following Roger Espinoza's move to Wigan Athletic. Espinoza set up two goals in Wigan's draw with Stoke City on Tuesday.
