American Exports preview: All-American clash in Germany

Jermaine Jones

AMSTERDAM In addition to the extra hour of sleep on Saturday night, this weekend features the usual menu of tasty European clashes involving Americans. All times listed in ET.

ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE

Tim Howard (EVE) – Fulham vs. Everton (Saturday, 11 am on Fox Soccer 2Go)

For the first time in his Toffees tenure, Howard will face a Fulham side that doesn't include any US teammates. The netminder has won four straight in the series and is 2-1-1 in his last four at Craven Cottage. Everton are unbeaten in six, but three straight draws have them in danger of falling away from the Champions League places. The Saturday visitors have lost just one of their last 10 EPL road games.

GERMAN BUNDESLIGA

Fabian Johnson, Daniel Williams (H'heim), Jermaine Jones (S04) Hoffenheim vs. Schalke (Saturday, 9:30 am)

All three Americans should feature as the Hoffenheim duo try to halt the march to the top by Jones and the Miners. Schalke, who are unbeaten in their nine away from home across all competitions, stand four points off the league lead in second. Of course, they have also yet to win at Hoffenheim in four tries. And FYI: Jones (above) led the league in yellow cards last term, just as Williams is thus far this season.

ITALIAN SERIE A

Michael Bradley (CV) AS Roma vs. Palermo (Sunday, 2:45 pm on beIN Sport)

Bradley may or may not retain his place when the Giallorossi return home from a bad trip to Parma. The confines have not been so friendly this season, with Roma posting just one win in five there. However, they have beaten Palermo in six of their last seven visits. The hosts have all sorts of selection woes, with Daniele De Rossi, Pablo Osvaldo and Maarten Stekelenburg among the injured.

DANISH SUPERLIGA

Charlie Davies (RFC) Randers FC vs. AC Horsens (Sunday, 8 am)

With top gun Ronnie Schwartz suspended and Davies coming off a solid cup start, the streaking hosts could turn to the American. Standing just three points shy of second place, Randers are unbeaten in five and haven't lost to Horsens in seven meetings. At the same time, The Yellow Danger will arrive having gone 3-0-3 on their last six Superliga road trips.

NORWEGIAN TIPPELIGIAEN

Josh Gatt (MFK) Tromsø vs. Molde FK (Saturday, 1 pm)

The American speedster returns from suspension as Molde visit last season's runners up with a chance to move closer to a title repeat. Gatt has two goals and three assists in his six away starts this season. He also has two helpers in three league games against Tromsø. The champs have two wins and a draw in the last four away meetings.
