Goal of the Matchday

Julio Cesar back-post volley wins AT&T Goal of the Week

Sporting KC's Julio Cesar celebrates his team's goal vs. Portland.

Sporting Kansas City may want to check their nets for holes.

A Júlio César wonderstrike off a Graham Zusi corner kick sent the Livestrong Sporting Park faithful into a frenzy last Saturday, gave Sporting KC a 2-0 lead over Toronto FC and took home AT&T Goal of the Week honors in a landslide for Weeks 13-15.

The 33-year-old Brazilian got on the tally sheet for the first time in 2012 in impressive fashion and, after a mid-week draw with Seattle, helped SKC climb to within one point of Eastern Conference leaders D.C. United with two games in hand. The award is the second consecutive Goal of the Week nod for Sporting after C.J. Sapong won in Week 12.

Vancouver's Sébastien Le Toux came in a distant second, after he volleyed home the game-winner over Colorado on a brilliant lobbed through ball from Davide Chiumiento.
