Goal of the Matchday

Henry's textbook finish named AT&T Goal of the Week

Thierry Henry celebrates a goal vs. the Rapids

It was textbook Thierry Henry.

The Red Bulls star forward scored a goal like only he can and fans celebrated it by voting him the AT&T Goal of the Week winner for Week 3.

The Frenchman's goal, which came in the 53rd minute in a 4-1 defeat of the Colorado Rapids, beat out Chicago's Dominic Oduro and his header goal for the weekly honor. Henry twisted his body and curled a classy finish past the outstretched leg of a defender and inside the far right post.

The free kick scored by Dallas midfielder Ricardo Villar, an imperious header by the Crew's Olman Vargas and Saer Sene's first MLS goal brought up the rear.

  1. Thierry Henry (NY) 35%
  2. Dominic Oduro (CHI) 27%
  3. Ricardo Villar (DAL) 16%
  4. Olman Vargas (CLB) 15%
  5. Saer Sene (NE) 8%
