De Rosario: I'm happier than I've ever been in Toronto

TORONTOā€”If Toronto FC star Dwayne De Rosario is feeling any resentment from the controversy that surrounded his training session with Celtic last month, he wasnā€™t showing it at training Thursday.

ā€œOther than the day I signed this is probably as happy as Iā€™ve been here,ā€ De Rosario said.

The attacker indicated that he was excited by the tactics that new head coach Aron Winter is trying to bring to the club.

ā€œAnyone that likes to play with the ball on the ground, movement off the ball ... itā€™s perfect for me,ā€ he said.

Although neither De Rosario or Winter would confirm what position De Rosario will play this year, it was stressed that he would likely be assigned a specific role.

De Rosario indicated a preference.

ā€œRight now I play the No. 10, I feel thatā€™s my best position ā€“ Iā€™m most comfortable at it,ā€ De Rosario said. ā€œBut [Winter] asked me that if he has to change the positions around to give the team a different shape if I minded if he move me somewhere else. I said yes, of course.ā€

Winter wasnā€™t giving anything away. Asked if he knew where he was going to play De Rosario, he smiled and said yes ā€“ but thatā€™s all he said. He would not bite when asked to clarify.

ā€œDe Rosario is a talented player that can play a lot of different places,ā€ Winter added. ā€œWe will mostly play him in one.ā€
