TORONTOāIf Toronto FC star Dwayne De Rosario is feeling any resentment from the controversy that surrounded his training session with Celtic last month, he wasnāt showing it at training Thursday.
āOther than the day I signed this is probably as happy as Iāve been here,ā De Rosario said.
The attacker indicated that he was excited by the tactics that new head coach Aron Winter is trying to bring to the club.
āAnyone that likes to play with the ball on the ground, movement off the ball ... itās perfect for me,ā he said.
Although neither De Rosario or Winter would confirm what position De Rosario will play this year, it was stressed that he would likely be assigned a specific role.
De Rosario indicated a preference.
āRight now I play the No. 10, I feel thatās my best position ā Iām most comfortable at it,ā De Rosario said. āBut [Winter] asked me that if he has to change the positions around to give the team a different shape if I minded if he move me somewhere else. I said yes, of course.ā
Winter wasnāt giving anything away. Asked if he knew where he was going to play De Rosario, he smiled and said yes ā but thatās all he said. He would not bite when asked to clarify.
āDe Rosario is a talented player that can play a lot of different places,ā Winter added. āWe will mostly play him in one.ā
