D.C. United decline comment on Charlie Davies

Charlie Davies is on Sochaux's 18-man roster for their Sunday match vs. Bordeaux.

D.C. United have declined to comment regarding a Washington Post report on Tuesday that the club is in "serious talks" to acquire US national team forward Charlie Davies on a potential loan deal.

The club is currently in preseason training camp in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.

Davies is on the books with French club FC Sochaux, but he hasn't played a first-team match since suffering life-threatening injuries in a car accident on Oct. 13, 2009 in Washington. He moved to Ligue 1 in 2009 after beginning his career with Hammarby in Sweden.

The 24-year-old has 17 caps and four goals for the United States, including a memorable strike at the Estadio Azteca in August 2009 during World Cup qualifying.
