United States U-20s ease past Canada, 5-0

Amobi Okugo

Joe Gyau and Josh Gatt are making an impression in their first U-20 camp. The American duo combined for three goals and Gatt had a hand in all five as the United States ran past an overmatched Canada side, 5-0, in Florida.

Gyau opened the scoring in the 12th minute on an assist from Gatt. The Hoffenheim midfielder one-timed a cross from Altach's creative winger.

Thomas Rongen's squad wouldn't find the back of the net again until just after the hour mark but poured in four goals between the 64th and 88th minutes with Gyau earning his hat-trick entirely from Gatt's serves.

Gatt tallied a brace himself, collecting assists from Zarek Valentin and Kelyn Rowe.

Zac MacMath earned the clean sheet while Philadelphia Union midfielder Amobi Okugo went the distance for the Stars and Stripes.

The U-20 team takes a break for the holidays before reconvening on Jan. 4.
