Wizards and U.S. Soccer Foundation to collect soccer equipment Oct. 1 as part of annual "Passback" program

Bring your soccer gear to Arrowhead Stadium on Saturday to contribute to the Passback program.

The Kansas City Wizards and United States Soccer Foundation are teaming up once again to present the annual U.S. Soccer Foundation "Passback Program" at Arrowhead Stadium.

On Saturday, prior to the Wizards match against the Chicago Fire, the U.S. Soccer Foundation will be collecting new and gently used soccer gear as part of their annual Passback Program. Soccer clubs, teams and individuals are encouraged to donate new or old soccer gear that will, in turn, be donated to local charities. Collections will take place outside Gate C of Arrowhead Stadium up until kickoff at 7 p.m. CT on Oct. 1.

As an added incentive, the U.S. Soccer Foundation and the Wizards will award the club, team or individual who donates the most equipment with a $200 gift certificate from Eurosport.

The Passback Program is a grassroots initiative designed to help meet the soccer uniform and equipment needs of all communities, regardless of income, gender or location. The program is supported by Eurosport in partnership with Major League Soccer. The Passback program facilitates the collection and distribution of new and gently used gear and equipment. It also allows individual soccer communities the opportunity to organize their own uniform and equipment donation drives for future distribution through the Passback Star Program.
