San Antonio Pumas win Futbolito

MLS Futbolito made its second stop of the year in San Antonio, Texas this past Saturday, where more than 90 teams and 2,500 spectators witnessed the League's official 4 v 4 tournament. The San Antonio Pumas won the Adult Premier Division in the competition presented by Panasonic and RadioShack at the Pepsi Soccer Fields.


The Adult Premier winners took home a $2,000 check, while the runners up, Atletico Peru, were presented $1,000 for their efforts.


More than 90 teams competed in 10 divisions, and throughout the day, more than 2,500 fans visited the park for the day's festivities. Among the special guests was Carlos "El Pibe" Valderrama, who signed autographs and share with the fans.


MLS joins the League's teams in presenting MLS Futbolito throughout the United States. The tour continues in San Jose, CA (June 4), Dallas, TX (July 9), Columbus, OH (July 16) and Washington DC (July 23). The day long events will continue through August and September before finalizing the tour in Los Angeles in October.


Teams registered for the competition are divided according to age groups and competitive levels. Winners of each division receive prizes with the first and second place teams in the Premier Division competing for $3000 in cash prizes. In addition to the games, each registered player will receive a ticket to an MLS game, a Futbolito t-shirt, and the chance to win prizes from co-presenting sponsors Panasonic and RadioShack.
