Pizza Hut Park and FC Dallas announce agreement with Minyard Food Stores

DALLAS - Pizza Hut Park President and General Manager Greg Elliott announced today that Minyard Food Stores has become a Signature Partner of Pizza Hut Park and FC Dallas.


Minyard Food Stores will be the official supermarket in the retail grocery category of Pizza Hut Park, as well as FC Dallas. Included under the Minyard Food Stores company umbrella are Minyard Food Stores, Carnival Food Stores and Sack n' Save Food Stores, featuring a combined 69 locations throughout DFW, all of which will be actively involved with this innovative partnership.


One primary area within the soccer park will be designated as the "Minyard Food Stores Picnic Patio" and will be the facility's primary destination for pre-game events at FC Dallas matches and International soccer matches. The picnic patio will be located at the Dr Pepper Victory Center, which runs through the middle of the 117-acre park.


"We are proud to partner up with a local industry leader like Minyard Food Stores," said Elliott. "Minyard's is yet another example of a local company that is partnering with our facility and our endeavors to enhance the experience at Pizza Hut Park."


Within the stadium, Minyard Food Stores will be the sponsor for a covered VIP hospitality area, entitled "Minyard Food Stores Family Zone" which will seat 250 people. Minyard Food Stores will also help introduce the FC Dallas Family Day Promotions for six home matches this year. Fans will be encouraged to drive to their local Minyard Food Stores to pick up a certificate which will entitle them to four FC Dallas tickets, four hot dogs, and four Dr Pepper beverages for a special discounted rate.


FC Dallas and Minyard Food Stores will provide bus transportation starting with two selected Minyard Food Stores locations to all FC Dallas regular season and playoff matches. Soccer fans will be encouraged to park in Minyard Food Stores lots and will be shuttled to Pizza Hut Park at no charge. Minyard Food Stores will also become an official outlet for FC Dallas and Pizza Hut Park merchandise.


Two of the 17-soccer fields located to the north of Pizza Hut Park will be identified as Minyard Food Stores' sponsored fields. Minyard Food Stores also have several other grassroots, community-oriented and promotional programs which will benefit the DFW marketplace.

Pizza Hut Park will be the new home for FC Dallas, a charter member club of Major League Soccer. FC Dallas will play their home schedule at the new stadium starting on August 6, 2005. It is located at the intersection of Main Street and Dallas North Tollway in Frisco. Pizza Hut Park is made possible by an innovative public private partnership between the Hunt Sports Group, the City of Frisco and its Economic and Community Development Corporations, as well as Collin County and the Frisco Independent School District. It will be a 117-acre facility which will feature a 21,193 seat soccer stadium and will accommodate Major League Soccer matches, major concerts, international soccer matches and High School football. Adjacent to the stadium will be 17 regulation size, tournament-grade soccer fields which will be utilized on a year-round basis.


Minyard Food Stores Inc. currently operates 69 supermarkets and 15 "On the Go" fuel stations in six surrounding counties of the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex including 26 Minyard, 19 Sack 'n Save and 24 Carnival Food Stores. Additionally, the company operates its own 722,000 square-foot distribution center and 43,000 square-foot office on an 81-acre corporate headquarters complex in Coppell.
