MLS, U.S. Soccer Foundation announce MLS Passback challenge dates

Major League Soccer, in conjunction with the U.S. Soccer Foundation, today revealed the dates for the 2005 MLS Passback Challenge to be held at every MLS venue over the course of the season. The Foundation, MLS, and Eurosport seek to collect over 10,000 pieces of new or gently-used soccer equipment and uniforms. The collected items will be distributed within each MLS team's local communities, going to teams, clubs, and individuals who are in need of assistance with uniforms, shoes, and other equipment.

This season, each of the twelve MLS teams will host a U.S. Soccer Foundation Passback event at their home venue. The teams are encouraging fans, clubs, and leagues to collect new and used soccer equipment and clothing in good condition and to donate the items at their local Passback event.

Eurosport, the Foundation's Supporter for Soccer Equipment and Uniforms, will provide a $200 catalog gift certificate to the individual or group contributing the largest donation. In addition, special drawings are slated take place at each Passback event, giving fans to win memorabilia from their local MLS team.
