Carson, CA - The Los Angeles Galaxy Foundation and Kohl's Department Stores are teaming up to present the Fifth Annual Holiday Assist Program at the department store's Lakewood location Sunday, December 12.

"We are pleased to work closely with our partner Kohl's on a such a worthwhile program," said Galaxy President and General Manager Doug Hamilton. "We hope to make the holiday a little bit brighter for a few deserving children and their families."

Approximately 100 children in need, identified by The Salvation Army of Southern California, will be participating in the Holiday Assist Program. Each child will receive a $100 Kohl's gift card, courtesy of the Galaxy Foundation and Kohl's, to be spent on much-needed clothing items and holiday shopping.

In addition to volunteers from Galaxy and Kohl's staffs, several Galaxy players will be shopping with the children and signing autographs for them at the conclusion of the shopping spree. The children will be treated to holiday goodies and given a Galaxy t-shirt and gift bag, including coupons from McDonalds and KFC, to take home with them.

Each child will also receive a toy donated by JAKKS Pacific and Playmates Toys Inc. and a book, courtesy of Kohl's Cares For Kids.

Krispy Kreme will also be providing doughnuts for everyone in attendance.
