MAJOR LEAGUE SOCCER QUOTE SHEET

WEDNESDAY, JUNE 22, 2005 - REAL SALT LAKE 1, LOS ANGELES GALAXY 1
REAL SALT LAKE HEAD COACH JOHN ELLINGER

On the game:
"The effort was there in the first half, we just made one bad ball and then in the second half we got the equalizer, I have no complaints about the effort of the guys tonight. Tonight was a step in the right direction and hopefully we can build on it."

On play of three rookies:

"Kenny (Cutler) is getting better every game that he plays. Cameron Knowles did an outstanding job tonight - he has a bit of a bite to him. You can't really say any more about Jamie (Watson) then what has already been said. He has established himself as someone who will be in the league a long time."

On play of Andy Williams:

"Andy (Williams) played very well tonight he was in a different class tonight then the rest of the season. This was his best game of the year so far."

REAL SALT LAKE FORWARD JAMIE WATSON

On his first start of the season:

"The whole day I was so calm I was running errands, going grocery shopping and it was my dad's birthday today and this is going to be the best birthday gift for him. It was an unbelievable night."

On his first goal of the year:

"The goal happened so quick. I was so excited I didn't know what to do after I scored, I had no celebration planned. Coach Mellor told me to make the most of my opportunity so I ran over and gave him a hug after the goal."

REAL SALT LAKE DEFENDER BRIAN KAMLER

On the game:

"Tonight was one of our better efforts of the year. I think we still have a ways to go on having a complete game. Chicago is a good team and it will be a big game for us. We need to come out with at least one point and hopefully three."

On the Western Conference standings:

"You definitely pay attention to the standings, but it is all about building game on game and you are never out of it until you are out of the playoffs. There is still a lot of the season left and we just need to keep playing like we are capable of and we will be fine."

LOS ANGELES GALAXY HEAD COACH STEVE SAMPSON

On the game:

"We won the series. Two wins, a loss and a tie. If we do that with every team we will be in good shape. We had to save Cobi (Jones) because of the turf; he showed with his play in his 35 minutes of action why he should be a candidate to play in his fourth World Cup."

LOS ANGELES GALAXY MIDFIELDER PETE VAGENAS

On the game:

"There were positives and negatives. The negative is we had another lead on the road, but we could not hold on, but the positive is that we got a point."

LOS ANGELES GALAXY FORWARD EDNALDO DA CONCEICAO

On his first goal:

"It was a great ball from Pete (Vagenas), the rest was easy. I am very happy to have scored my first goal for the Galaxy."

On the game:

"I wished that my goal would have given us the three points. We are disappointed with the tie."

On the next game at San Jose:

"It is a very important game now that we are leaving here with only one poi]nt. I feel we should have won tonight."
