D.C. United, WMET Radio announce 2005 English play-by-play schedule

WASHINGTON, D.C. - D.C. United and WMET Radio announced today that Talk Radio WMET 1160 will again be the English radio home of the Black-and-Red. WMET Radio coverage begins on April 2, as United returns to the site of their 2004 MLS Cup Championship, The Home Depot Center in Carson, California. They will face off in the first-ever match played by MLS expansion Club Deportivo Chivas USA. WMET Radio will broadcast all 30 of United's Major League Soccer fixtures during the 2005 campaign. In addition to the radio broadcast, live audio streaming for all MLS matches will be available at www.dcunited.com.

Tony Limarzi will once again be the radio voice of D.C. United. The veteran broadcaster has been involved with local soccer for nearly 20 years, and got his start with United as a production assistant for Inside D.C. United, hosted by Dave Johnson. In addition to being the radio voice of United, Limarzi has also called many important soccer matches, including NCAA matches for the University of Illinois and the 1998 Olympic Qualifying tournament. During the winter, Limarzi is the producer and co-host of the Georgetown Men's Basketball television show Hoya Hoops with Craig Esherick. Tony and his wife Meg live in Silver Spring, MD.
