D.C. United calls up GK Andrew Terris

WASHINGTON, D.C. - D.C. United has called up goalkeeper Andrew Terris for Saturday night's match against the San Jose Earthquakes, the club announced Friday. Terris, a 2002 graduate of Stanford University, is currently under contract to Major League Soccer as part of the goalkeeper pool and is available for assignment.

Terris had a very successful career at Stanford, earning honorable mention All-Pac-10 and First Team Academic All-Pac-10 accolades in 2001. He started 21 matches for the Cardinal as a junior, with a 0.64 goals-against average. He was the starting goalkeeper in 11 of Stanford's 12 shutouts on the 2001 campaign.

As a senior, he split time with Robby Fulton, and was named to the CoSIDA District 8 All-Academic Team, maintaining a 3.68 GPA as a psychology major. His 87 career saves rank him eighth all-time on Stanford's books, and he finished his career with eight solo shutouts and a career goals-against average of 0.97.
