COLUMBUS CREW 1, FC DALLAS 0

COLUMBUS CREW HEAD COACH ROBERT WARZYCHA

On the result:
"Since the beginning, since they ran on the field, their formation was a 4-5-1. Look at these guys, it was very tough to break them down. And then we scored the goal. And they are a very good team, as you know, they have a lot of points. They were trying to make it difficult for us as soon as possible, and we were lucky enough to score a goal."

On the game:
"I think in the second half we started to play much better. We started switching the ball from one side to the other. We had some guys running to the ball. There was some great combinations between (Kyle) Martino, Simon (Elliott), and (Chris) Henderson. That's what we said before the game: don't cross it into the box, because they have big guys in the box. Just cross it in on the ground, and you never know what will happen. And basically, we were lucky to get that goal."

On changes in the second half:
"I was thinking about more speed (substituting Cornell Glen). Since John Wolyniec had to fight with two big guys for 70 minutes, I thought we had to bring the game to the ground, try to pass a little more. That was also the message to the players in the back, not to play long ball to his head, because obviously he is not going to win it, because when you have a small guy, you need to bring the ball to his feet. I was saying that to everybody on the field, because we cannot win the ball, I let them know about the change, to bring the ball to the ground."

On Jonny Walker's play:
"I think Jonny Walker is on the field to make saves, and that is what he did. Fantastic."

COLUMBUS CREW FORWARD CORNELL GLEN

On the game:
"It felt good to get out there and score, whether it is against Dallas or against anyone. It feels good to get back on the scoring sheet again. Robert knew I was upset not being on the starting team, and he was telling me to use the anger and channel it into the game. Go out there and be angry. I just went out there and tried my best. I was angry knowing I was off the team (the starting lineup). For what reason, I didn't know. He has made some good decisions so far, so it worked well for us. Hopefully this goal can get me back on the team. I'm not just depending on this goal. I'm going to work hard and try to get my spot back on the team, to try and help the team make it to the playoffs."

On the goal:
"I was trying to lose my defender, he was trying to cheat to the first post so I dropped to the second post and I tried to pull him away, and then I made the run to the first post. The ball was slightly behind me so I had to do a flick. It's the second one I have scored like that in the league. It's just pure luck."

COLUMBUS CREW GOALKEEPER JONNY WALKER

On the thunderstorm delay:
"It's unbelievable, the weather is just following us around, but fortunately we were able to pull through it tonight. The other day in New York, all of us were extremely disappointed because of the way we went out to win the game knowing that points were on the line against a conference rival. Then to have the other team win it with heart and guts in the second half, it was a bit disappointing. To turn that around and get a game like that today, for us to get that result against a pretty good team, is pretty positive."

On bouncing back from last week's loss:
"You have to ask all the other players, but for me, every game you play is experience, and that experience that we all had last week, it's a bitter one that hopefully you will learn from and you can use it in the future. And I think that is what we did tonight."

FC DALLAS HEAD COACH COLIN CLARKE

On the result:
"It's very disappointing. We were decent defensively, we had some great opportunities going forward that just didn't go in and at the other end we gave up a bad goal. It's getting to the point where we need to put things right."

On Eddie Johnson:
"He ended up playing 90 minutes last week when we didn't really want him to because we are trying to ease him back. It's an injury in a place that he is going to get a lot of contact so we have to take it slowly."

On the Columbus goal:
"We defended the ball horribly in the corner of the field and (Henderson) got around us and knocks in a cross. We don't get it out and Cornell (Glen) got a flick on it. Obviously Chris (Gbandi) was right there on the line trying to get it out but just wasn't able to. We had chances before that though, there were a lot of good opportunities that we didn't take advantage of and then Walker makes a great save to keep it 1-0."

On the way his team played defensively:
"Defensively we were pretty solid. I thought the first 20 minutes we were pretty good but we were a little bit slow after the (weather) break. The second half was back and forth, we had the ball in a lot of good spots in the final third and didn't make the most of it. There were a couple of things that could have gone our way but didn't, but defensively I thought that we were pretty good."

FC DALLAS MIDFIELDER RONNIE O'BRIEN

On the result:
"It's terrible. It's been a long time since we've won a game and to be honest it's been a long time since we deserved to win a game. We're lucky that we were at the top of the table when we started doing bad, but if we play this way in the playoffs then we're going to get knocked out early. We just need to pick it up, get back to what we were doing and try to win some games."

FC DALLAS DEFENDER STEVE JOLLEY

On the Columbus goal:
"I saw Henderson get the ball in from the right, across the six and I was on (Glen) at the near post and I think that he just got his foot on it from the back, dragged it across and it went in off Chris (Gbandi). I really think that we covered all of our bases, it just started with getting beat on the sideline and was just unlucky for (Gbandi) to say the least."
