Based on a true story and produced by IFC Films/Bristol Bay Productions, 'The Game of Their Lives' follows the U.S. World Cup team which passionately proved that even an underdog has what it takes to be a winner. The story is based on the 1950 U.S. soccer team which, against all odds, beat world power England 1-0 in one of the biggest upsets in soccer history. Set in the small town of Belo Horizonte, Brazil, it is a story about family traditions and passions that shaped the lives of the players who made up that team.

Directed by David Anspaugh with screenplay by Angelo Pizzo (the filmmakers responsible for the acclaimed sports dramas 'Hoosiers' and 'Rudy'), 'The Game of Their Lives' features a talented ensemble cast including Gerard Butler ('The Phantom Of The Opera,' 'Tomb Raider'), Wes Bentley ('American Beauty,' 'The Four Feathers'), Gavin Rossdale (lead singer of Bush, 'Constantine'), Zachery Bryan ('Home Improvement'), Jimmy Jean-Louis ('The Bourne Identity') John Rhys-Davies ('Lord of The Rings,' 'The Princess Diaries'), and Patrick Stewart ('X-Men,' 'Star Trek: The Next Generation') .
