Behind the Badge: On to Jamaica

Nick Rimando

D.C. United emerged from the cold last Wednesday night with a 2-1 victory over Harbour View FC and a one-goal lead in the two-game aggregate goal series in the quarterfinal round of the CONCACAF Champions Cup. The club immediately began preparing for the return leg, to be played Wednesday night in Kingston, Jamaica, waking up at 5 a.m. to travel to Coral Springs, Fla., for training.

The club has practiced daily since Thursday and is focused on the upcoming away leg. The team travels to Jamaica today for the match, scheduled for Wednesday night at 7:30 p.m. ET. The game will be televised live on Fox Soccer Channel.

Home Schooling
United did not bring the full roster to their Heron Bay training headquarters. Those not traveling have been hard at work, practicing under the guidance of team strength and conditioning coach Randy Rocha.

Trials and Tribulations
Both Marcelo Kobistyj and Odvan Gomez Silva have completed trials with the Black-and-Red without being offered a contract.
